Terri Hemmert
After 45-years on Triple A WXRT/Chicago, Terri Hemmert informed her station colleagues via email that will step down from her full-time midday shift in a few weeks to give her more flexibility in her day-to-day life. She will continue hosting Breakfast With The Beatles on Sunday mornings and will also do fill-in work on the station.
Hemmert joined XRT in 1973 and has been at the station continuously, including a stint in the ’80s as Chicago’s first woman to host Morning Drive. In recent years, Hemmert has been on the 10 a.m.-1 p.m. shift. In her email to the XRT staff, Hemmert stated, “I will continue to be proud of being part of the XRT family. I love music. I love radio. I love our listeners. And I love my radio family. Some things change, but that never will.”
