Via Instagram Live on Thursday night, Taylor Swift announced that her new album is titled Lover and will be out August 23. During the online broadcast, Swift said the new material is “very romantic” but added that “you can find romance in loneliness or sadness.”
Swift also released a new single, “You Need to Calm Down,” at midnight, following up “ME!,” her collaboration with Brandon Urie of Panic! at the Disco. The Pop singer revealed that she snuck in the album title in the “ME!” video.
Along with the standard edition of Lover, it will be released in four different deluxe editions with different content, via Swift’s ongoing partnership with Target. She also announced during the video stream that Lover will have an accompanying clothing line designed by Stella McCartney.
