Paul Jacobs

The Conclave, which celebrates 44 years of educating radio broadcasters this year, announces that it will present the 2019 Rockwell Award to Paul Jacobs, President Jacobs Media & jacapps. Jacobs will receive the Rockwell Award during The Conclave’s 44th Summer Learning Conference on June 20th, 2019 at the The Conclave, which celebrates 44 years of educating radio broadcasters this year, will be held on June 19th -21st, 2019, at its new location, Delta Hotels Minneapolis Northeast. Since 1989, The Conclave has presented The Rockwell Award – an annual lifetime achievement award to an individual of unquestioned accomplishment.

Jacobs began his broadcasting career in radio sales in Detroit, at WNIC and WRIF. He then moved into station management in Dallas at KZEW, and back in Detroit at WDFX prior to joining his brothers Fred and Bill at Jacobs Media, the premier consulting and research company. Since 1991, Jacobs has helped steer the company as it has become a significant influencer in the radio business in the areas of digital transformation, the connected car, mobile, and more. In 2008, Jacobs became the President of jacapps, which today is the largest developer of mobile applications for the radio industry, with over 1,200 apps developed.

In making today’s announcement, Conclave Board Chair, Lori Lewis said: “The Rockwell Award honors those who have made a lasting impact on our storied industry. Paul has, and continues, to do just that.”

Jacobs said: “Receiving this award is truly rewarding and a high mark in my career in radio.  I have been a big fan of the work the leaders of The Conclave had done for our industry for decades, and to be acknowledged by them is truly an honor.”
