Non-comm Triple A WFUV/New York has announced changes in its weekday lineup, including a new midday host, and the resignation of longtime DJ and AMD, Carmel Holt. Host and producer Alisa Ali will step into the middays when Holt moves on to new endeavors. Holt’s last day on air will be Friday March 15.
“Carmel has been a listener favorite since first joining our lineup six years ago,” said WFUV’s PD, Rita Houston. “She has raised the midday bar with a smart and informed approach to the music, dedication to artists, and development of the popular FUV Mixtape feature. We wish Carmel the best, we’re going to miss her, and we’re excited for her next chapter.”
Alisa Ali, FUV’s current evening host, will migrate to the 10 a.m.-2 p.m. slot effective Monday, March 18. “We’re thrilled to see Alisa step onto the midday stage,” said Houston, “where she’ll get to share her talents, musical taste, and ample (and, as she would admit, often corny) sense of humor with a wider audience.” Ali started her radio career some 13 years ago as WFUV’s morning show producer, and has since served as producer for FUV Live studio sessions, and evening host.
