Ariana Grande has reworked her upcoming tour schedule, due to her Coachella headlining gigs. The Pop star’s North American run, initially scheduled to wrap June 26, will now end on July 13 to accommodate rescheduled dates in Chicago, Columbus, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Milwaukee, St. Paul, Denver and Salt Lake City that were initially scheduled for April 2019. The Omaha and Raleigh dates of the tour have been cancelled with refunds available at point of purchase. Grande has also added a May 11 Las Vegas date to the trek. Her Coachella performances are set for night 3 of the festival, April 14 and 21.
Rock legends The Who have announced a 2019 North American tour of stadiums and arenas with a symphonic accompaniment. Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend and their backing band will be “complemented by some of the best orchestras in the U.S. and Canada.” The spring leg of the “Moving On!” tour runs from May 7 in Grand Rapids, MI to June 1 in Toronto. The summer/fall leg of the trek begins September 6 in St. Paul, MN and wraps up in Edmonton, Alberta on October 23. It includes a two-night stand at the Hollywood Bowl in L.A. on October 11 & 13. Additionally, a new Who album is expected to be released later in 2019 as well, their first of original music in 13 years.
The Killers have released a new song and video, titled “Land of the Free,” addressing gun violence in America and other pressing issues facing the country. In a lengthy statement on Instagram, singer Brandon Flowers wrote that the track was inspired by America’s “onslaught of more mass shootings of innocents and too many examples of racial injustice to ignore.” He concludes, “I love my country. I know that these are complicated issues but whether you stand to the left, right, or straddle the line, you’ve gotta believe that we can do better.” The video for “Land of the Free” was directed by Spike Lee and can be seen below:
The Rocklahoma Festival has announced its 2019 lineup, topped by Ozzy Osbourne, Disturbed and Shinedown. The three-day event runs over Memorial Day weekend (5/24-26) in Prior, OK. Also on the bill are Bush, Seether, Steel Panther, In This Moment and many, many more.
