Drake‘s new album Views spends its second week at #1 on the Billboard 200, with 219,000 equivalent album units, 175,000 of which were pure album sales. Views has already crossed 1 million copies sold, according to Nielsen Music, making it the first 2016 release to sell 1 million. The only other record to sell 1 million or more this year is Adele‘s 25, which came out in 2015.
Radiohead‘s ninth record A Moon Shaped Pool debuts at #3, giving the veteran band their sixth Top 10 record. Their last album, 2011’s The King of Limbs, also debuted at #3. A Moon Shaped Pool sold 173,000 albums, their largest sales week since 2003’s Hail to the Thief sold 300,000 in its first week. Additionally, Radiohead had a shorter sales week compared to the rest of the chart, as it was released on Sunday, May 8.
Two Country artists broke into the top 10 this week, as Keith Urban‘s Ripcord debuts at #4 and Cole Swindell‘s You Should Be Here comes in at #6.
Beyoncé is at #2 with Lemonade, while The Very Best of Prince is at #5. Prince‘s Purple Rain is also still in the Top 10, at #8. Also making this week’s top 10 were Rihanna (#7), Adele (#9) and Chris Stapleton (#10).
