What is your favorite most memorable quote or phrase of all-time?

Tommy Chuck, WFLZ: “No amount of success in the office can justify failure in the home.” – J.E. McCulloch.

Zac Davis, WRVQ: “By taking the emotion out of things, you can think clearly and strategically.” – Tim Satterfield.

R Dub! Z90: In the movie BIG, Tom Hanks is critiquing a stupid toy in a board of directors meeting for the toy company. His response after looking at the toy and hearing the pitch: “What’s fun about that?” And that is my go-to during sales and promotions meetings when dumb client ideas are presented that don’t benefit the listeners! What’s fun about that?

Jonathan Reed, WNOK: “Everything in life is temporary.”

Rick Vaughn, Power 94.9: Whether you believe that you will win or that you will lose, you are correct.” It’s a variation of a quote by Henry Ford, I just adopted my own version of it.

Chad Rufer, KZZO: It’s a tie between “You live life once and the way I live once is enough.”- Frank Sinatra. “The best way to predict your future is to create it yourself.” – Abraham Lincoln.

Gina Gray, WERO: I need to credit JT Bosch for this one as we were sitting around writing production liners one night a few years back: “We are the coolest people we know.”

Kobe, WWHT:  “People don’t know what they like, but like what they know.”

Rob Roberts, WRQX: “Hit ‘em where they ain’t.” – Wee Willie Keeler.

Buster, WFLZ: “You wanna be right or you wanna get paid?” – Me.

Kobi, WNRW/WLGX:George Bush doesn’t care about black people,” just because Kanye West said it. “It’s a lot easier to chill when you’re already cool” and my grandfather always said, “If you plan ahead you’ll never fall behind.”

Sassy, WKXJ: “Where the cookies and sh*t?” – Bernie Mack.

Chuck Damico, WMMR / WBEN: “It takes more words to lie than it does to tell the truth. So remember, the more a person’s mouth is moving, the more likely it is that they’re full of shit.”-my Dad.

Frankie V, KSSX: “Give me a chance and I’ll prove the doubters wrong!” It’s a quote I came up with while attending Hamilton College. It’s been my motto ever since.

Dom Theodore, Radio Animal Media Strategies: Here’s two: “If you just play the songs that people like, the ratings will go up,” –  Jerry Clifton; and “Your gut is right 99% of the time, and those are pretty good odds,” – BJ Harris.

Erik Bradley, B96: One of them is, “the minute you think you’re somebody is when you become a nobody,” which I learned from Keith Naftaly.

Valentine, WBHT: “Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world,”-  Albert Einstein.

Brian Mack, WXXL: “Nobody has better respect for intelligence than Donald Trump,” – Donald Trump.

Jeff Hurley, WLAN: “The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There’s also a negative side,” Hunter S. Thompson.

Elizabethany, WIHT: “Strivers achieve what dreamers believe” was said by Usher YEARS ago and I wrote it down and keep it in my wallet. We all have big dreams… but do we all have the motivation and self-discipline to carry out the dreams?

Sue O’Neil, WKSE: Carpe diem.

Randi West, WMTX: “All great women are dead and I’m not feeling so well.” No idea who originally said it but I stole it from PJ Lacey when I started in this business.

Fish Boy, WKRZ: I have a Top 3: “The grass is always greener on the other side,” “Don’t be anyone’s judge or jury,” “Drunk, fat and stupid is no way to go through life!”

Reed Phillips, Sun Media-Paducah, KY: I have 2 work related quotes that hold a special place in my heart. The more practical: “We’re not competing with iPods. iPods are devices…we are entertainers.” – Randy Raley. The other, the first words said to me by my then-PD, as I moved to Kentucky in 2006: “Son, this is Kentucky. Where the monkeys f**k the chickens!” True words to live by.

Matt Talluto, WBYR: From The Godfather: Kaye Adams: “Do you know how naive you sound, Michael? Senators and presidents don’t have people killed.” Michael Corleone: “Oh. Who’s being naive Kaye?”

Toby Knapp, WASH: “Never keep your ego so close to your position that if your position goes, your ego goes with it.” – Colin Powell. “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs.

JB King, KLUC: “Common sense is not common practice.”

Kevin Kash, WIYY: This quote was uttered by my instructor on the first day of broadcasting school, “Welcome, this is radio…you WILL get fired.”
