(l-r): Joe Breezy, Daena “DK” Kramer, and Cort Freeman
Cumulus Media announces Atlanta CHR Q99.7 (WWWQ-FM) will launch The Q Morning Crew, a new morning show with a fresh lineup of on-air personalities. The Q Morning Crew debuts on Monday, March 30th, and features morning radio stars Joe Breezy, Daena “DK” Kramer, and Cort Freeman in an engaging mix of pop culture and the real-life randomness that makes Atlanta mornings so entertaining. The show will air on Q99.7 Monday through Friday from 6:00am-10:00am. “The Q Morning Crew” succeeds 25-year mainstay “The Bert Show” on Q99.7.
Patrick Davis, Program Director, Q99.7, said: ““The Q Morning Crew” brings humor through three distinct personalities: Joe is the ambitious, charismatic host chasing a big opportunity in Atlanta; DK is a sharp, funny, independent woman who balances sweetness with sass. Cort is a quick-thinking comedian whose creativity and masculine edge keep the show unpredictably funny.”
Joe Breezy returns to Atlanta radio from Nashville, where he was one of the Music City’s most recognizable on-air personalities in Afternoons on Mix 92.9 (WJXA). Breezy also served as the pop culture correspondent on the daily entertainment and lifestyle show, “Local On 2” on Nashville ABC affiliate WKRN-TV.
Daena “DK” Kramer, an award-winning on-air personality, well-known voiceover talent and improvisational comedian, joins Q99.7 with morning show experience in Houston, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. She was also Co-Host of the nationally syndicated morning show, “The 90s with Alfonso Ribeiro”.
Comedian Cort Freeman rounds out the new morning team as on-air personality and Executive Producer for the show. Freeman travels south from Detroit after successful runs with “Mojo in the Morning” and “Dave & Chuck ‘The Freak’”.
Brian Philips, Chief Content Officer, Cumulus Media, said: “Patrick and this carefully-recruited group of new talent have put in the work of developing a morning show for modern Atlanta— plenty of attention paid to rich character-development and playful running storylines. Joe, DK and Cort are each set up to play to their proven strengths. This cast is ready for Prime Time. And the new Q99.7 is due to kick into high gear.”
Justin Schaflander, Vice President/Market Manager, Cumulus Atlanta, commented: “We’re eager to launch these three exceptional talents as we build our all live and local approach at Q99.7. This new morning show represents the next step in the reimagination of the station. They’re ready to awaken Atlanta audiences with energy, creativity, and quirkiness. The future of Q99.7 is bright.”
