Dontay Thompson
Epic Records has named Dontay Thompson Senior Vice President, Rhythm/Crossover Promotion. Thompson segues to Epic after his most recent post as SVP/Promotion at eOne. He’ll be based in Los Angeles, and will report to Executive Vice President Rick Sackheim.
“Dontay is a widely respected seasoned veteran who has never lost his enthusiasm for the Rhythm/Crossover space.” said Sackheim. “His wealth of experience and team-building skills enables him to thread the big picture with a hands-on promotional rapport that will translate into long-term success stories for our artists. The entire company joins me in welcoming Dontay to the Epic family.”

During his tenure with eOne, Thompson oversaw the company’s radio promotion team. He previously worked as VP/Promotion at Bad Boy Entertainment and was National Director of Rhythm/Crossover at J Records. Thompson also spent time as Rhythmic Editor for former industry publication Radio & Records. He also served as Music Director/on-air personality at for Rhythmic Top 40 staton KXJM/Portland.
