How would you rate this year’s crop of Super Bowl commercials and which ones did you find most enjoyable/effective?

Rich Davis, KDWB: By far the Tubi commercial was the most effective. It literally got everybody and I was like, “Who is doing that with the remote!” J-Lo and Ben were really good, and I also liked the Doritos one with Jack Harlow.

Adam Rivers, WKCI: Horrible, other than Dunkin’ and Busch Light.

Java Joel, WHBC: C+. Although, the Sarah McLachlan Busch Beer ad was pretty good.

Jeremy Rice

Jeremy Rice, WXXL: I loved the Canada one. I grew up in upstate New York and went to Toronto all the time and Montreal is one of my favorite cities.

Erik Bradley, B96: My favorite commercial was The Farmer’s Dog spot, it brought all the emotions – happy vibes for the bond we have with our dogs, but also somber vibes when you have to think of them aging, the general concept of the spot (extending your dog’s life by feeding them qualify food) certainly worked out well for the company!

Valentine, WBHT: The comic fan nerd in me liked The Flash movie with Michael Keaton returning as Batman. I loved the Bud Light versus Coors face off. I thought the M&M’s commercial was a weak payoff for all the hype and teasing they did leading up to it.

Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: I found the Ram’s premature electrification spot very funny, and I thought the most effective was Tubi, it was like they just turned off the game.

Guy Zapoleon, Zapoleon Consulting: Didn’t think there was any great ad, but overall much better than any Super Bowl commercials in a decade. Favs were: The Farmer’s Dog, Amazon (Dog) but very sentimental, Dunkin, Pop Corners (big Breaking Bad fan), and T Mobile (Grease fan). Also like the Part II: Michelob Ultra’s “New Members Day” homage to Caddyshack with Succession Brian Cox and Serena Williams.

Randi West, WRMF: Ben and Jen Dunkin spot was my favorite.

Toby Knapp, WASH: I’m really stuck on the Ben Affleck/Dunkin spot. The man gets where he’s from, what made him, and brought Jenny off the Block to support him. Sure, they got paid. But that spot and the outtakes resonate. I’m biased – but it’s a NE thing.

JB King, KLUC: I need to apologize to my son who I yelled at “hey, you’re sitting on the remote, get up’ when the Tubi commercial aired. I also loved the Michelob Ultra ‘Caddy Shack’ commercial.

Rick Vaughn, KENZ: The Tubi spot had me looking for my remote!

Mike Klein, WZFT: I love the TUBI commercial definitely different, and may be really pay attention. Also, the T-Mobile commercials with Bradley Cooper and his mom. The commercial felt so real and I feel like all of us have experience that with our families.

Bartel. WKTU: Farmer’s Dog and Bud Light with Miles Teller.

Big Rob, KKPL / KMAX: The Tubi TV one was innovative. The J-Lo and Ben Dunkin’ spot was fun.

Brian Mack, WXXL: For the first time in as long as I could recall for me, the game was better than any of the performances or ads…and I don’t even watch football.

Mike O’Donnell, WKRZ: I thought they brought back too many of the older celebrities. Seemed like most of the time it was a star from long ago. Fav’s: Dunkin’ Donuts with Ben and Jen, I really liked the Breaking Bad Pop Corners one. The most effective was Love Your Enemies from the Christian people, because I think a lot of people don’t understand the real message of Christ because Christians haven’t done a good job over the years to promote it. I thought that one got the message across well.

Jagger, KCHZ: Overall, I thought the commercials were decent, kind of midpack versus previous years. Most enjoyable: The flag football chase was great, Alicia Silverstone redoing her Clueless role, and the Will Ferrell ads were also really good.

Jammer, WEZB: Good. Scale of 1-10, I give it a 7. Liked The J-Lo & Ben Dunkin’ spot.

Bob Patrick, WXLK: They were quite good. My favorite being the Dunkin commercial with Ben and J-Lo. “Grab me a glazed!”

Heather Deluca, WSJO: The SB commercials were better than the last couple years. I cracked up at the Clueless commercial w/Alicia Silverstone, and really loved the one with Miles Teller. Missed a Budweiser Clydesdale horses one though. And I was almost DONE with Amazon when I thought the family was sending their dog to a shelter.

Drew Heyman, WHYI: That TUBI commercial had me mad as hell at the family and who was messing with the remote. Great marketing.

Brian Check, iHeartMedia: I thought there were some strong ones this year. Three favs: Jack Harlow Doritos spot and loved that Missy and Elton showed up; the Rock Star spot for Workday, great play off of an overused cliché; and the Ben and J-Lo Dunkin’ spot was a winner, so well played.

Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: My top three: Dunkin’ Drive Thru with Ben Affleck, the farmer’s dog, and the T-Mobile spot with John Travolta.

Kevin Kash / WIKG & WBHB: I liked the Breaking Bad commercial. Looked authentic to the show. Tuco says “tight!”
