If you had the op to teach a course in any field you can choose or create, what would it be?
Adam Rivers, WKCI: I have taught Audio Production, Advanced Audio Production, Radio Practicum, and Intro to Mass Communications the last 8 years at Asnuntuck Community College in Enfield, CT. Great balance for what I do every day. Chris Michaels, FM100: Easy one…BBQ Tips with Chris. We’ll grill, enjoy a cold beer and have fun! Big Rob, KKPL/KMAX: How to be a decent human being… Seems like that’s something that needs to be taught more and more these days. Get off my lawn! Derrick Cole, WAEB: Networking, it seems to be less these days but the ability to network and connect with other people I feel is so crucial in any field. JB King, KLUC: A creative writing or script writing class. I’ve never done either, but I do enjoy story telling. Rick Vaughn, KENZ: Skiing. I have three different certifications, you’re in good hands, you’re safe with me. Joey Brooks, WKSS: I like hockey and I like fighting people so it would be a course in Self-Defense, which is relatable to both. I love the Bruins and have a blackbelt in Tai Kwan Do, so I am qualified. Jana Sutter, WXXL: My favorite course in college was The Philosophy of Competition. I would choose that! Guy Zapoleon, Zapoleon Consulting: I’d teach Media History and radio’s place in it. It would include the 10-year music cycle. Also, would feature Radio’s Brilliant Basics and the essentials for radio’s survival in a streaming and app audio consumption world. |
Orlando Davis, WLLD: If able to teach a course, I’d teach public speaking. I love to give power back to the spoken word and rid our world of incessant mumblers lol. Buster Satterfield, WIOQ: Cooking. Making something out of nothing. Jeremy Rice, WXXL: African American and Indigenous People’s History, Neuroscience, understanding the Brain Space exploration, Solar Systems. R Dub!, Z90/Magic 92.5: Radio syndication, travel, or breakdancing. Heather Deluca, WSJO: ‘Empathy in Today’s Society’. That would be my class. Matt Johnson, WPLW: Sifting through the B.S.! Core curriculum would be diagnosing and analyzing all the manipulative practices that come at us daily. Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: I’d be an Adjunct Professor of passive-Aggressiveness. Bob Patrick, WXLK: Ball Busting 101. You must know where the line is and when to not cross it. Dom Theodore, Radio Animal Media Strategies: Intelligent risk-taking. I have enough to share on this topic to fill several semesters! Jagger, KCHZ: I’d like to teach a course on how to be a radio broadcaster and how to be on the air. I’ve been doing it all my life so I’m pretty schooled on it. |
Rich Davis, KDWB: I don’t know how I would choose something other than radio. I’d teach all creative and pragmatic aspects of programming. Toby Knapp, WASH: First – how to be your own agent and save shelling out your money to people who don’t have your best interests at heart. Second – User Interface Design and User Experience Design… specific to broadcast live or voice-tracked content creation. There’s an art to simplicity. To the idea of getting something done in just two clicks. This fascinates me and I think teaching it could make future operating environments even better for our creatives. Third – A class to underscore, educate and inform our creatives in all markets, all company, regardless of size, why we need to be represented by SAG-AFTRA now more than ever before. Drew Heyman, WHYI: We can all use some good investment and real estate education. Bartel. WKTU: I’ve always enjoyed my teaching TV/Radio broadcasting at the college level. Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: Decluttering your life, Pop music history, or time management. Lee Abrams, mediavisions: Innovation in media: past, present and future. Chris Michaels, FM100: Easy one…BBQ Tips with Chris. We’ll grill, enjoy a cold beer and have fun! |
