Summer is quickly arriving, what have been some of your fondest memorable summertime moments (business and/or pleasure)?

Brian Mack, iHeartMedia: Going to hockey camp as a kid all over the northeast and going to Nantucket/Cape Cod in the summers with my family.
Buster Satterfield, WIOQ: Selling out WiredFest on Festival Pier with Calvin Harris, Iggy Azalea, Diplo and G-Eazy in 2014. One of the biggest and best concerts on the waterfront in Philly ever!
Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: Best summer memories as a child: tennis camp and road trips with Mom and Dad to Cape Cod and Maine; as an adult when my kids were younger, watching fireworks and Red, White and Boom. |
Rick Vaughn, KENZ: Just livin’ outside, man. Motorcycles, convertibles, pools, mountains, sleeping under the stars. It’s all good.
R Dub, Z90/Magic 92.5: One of my first concerts – I was 15 years old and just moved to Tucson with big radio dreams. Mom took me to KRQ’s “Red, White and Boom.” I met a girl there. We kissed during the fireworks. It was magic. Life was good. Who knew I’d go on to do nights and program that station! Josh Wolff, WAEB: Not having to worry about snow for the summer is always a good feeling this time of year, especially after this past winter.
Jeremy Rice, WXXL: Taking my family for the first time to England to meet their cousins and my extended Rice family was very special. And of course, getting A-List artists and selling out Jones Beach year after year. Lee Abrams mediavisions: Summer of ’68! Driver’s license, first serious romance, got high for the first time, and finished the blueprint for my format (though it didn’t see any stations until the early ‘70s.) |
Nick Wize, WFLZ: Watching the Red Wings win Stanley Cups as a kid. The NHL playoffs and summers in Detroit just went together back then. Dom Theodore, Radio Animal Media Strategies Summer for me was always about going to northern Michigan, and now I live here. So, it’s like being on summer vacation every day…except December thru March when I’d rather be in Florida!
Mike O’Donnell, WKRZ: Spending time with my family down at the Outer Banks on the beach, and spending time with the family at the pool. Bob Patrick, WXLK: Playing baseball 12 hours a day as a kid. |
Jana Sutter, WXXL: It’s always fun to see 100,000 people show up for our Red Hot & Boom concert. It’s hard to beat that.
Frankie V, KSSX/KHTS: The V-Fam cruises were always the highlight of summers. Dad would set them up, have us all fly back to Boston, then we would go to Bermuda. Being on a boat, with family, and with minimal cell service, was magical! The stories that happened on the cruise have become great content years later for Mikey V and me on our KISS 108 VBROS Show lol! Miss my dad. Miss those cruises!
Elise, WPLW: I’m like a plant because I live outside. It’s why I lived in Florida for a while. I always need to be outside in the sun and near water.
Orlando Davis, WLLD: When we started WiLD, the infamous sticker stops were legendary. Always a fond memory. Personally? The ice cream truck. Only summer running I ever did!
Kobe, WURV: Professionally, I’ll never forget all the PXY Summer Jams I was a part of and the summer concerts we presented when I was at HOT107.9. Personally, family vacations. Me, my wife, and my daughter all celebrate summer birthdays, so it turns out to be two months of summer celebrations every year.
Jagger, KCHZ: Summer vacations to Orlando with my family when I was a kid. Can’t forget those. Professionally, when I was at WKTU, we did some great KTU Euphoria summer shows.Next Week’s Question Of The Week:
