What “hidden talents” do you possess that people might be surprised to find out about?
Joey Brooks, WKSS: I’m a musician. I play drums, guitar and bass. I’ve been playing music my whole life. In fact, when I was in high school in Boston, our band (Shade) was pretty popular and one of the Rock stations (WAAF) frequently played us on their local music show. We also played some pretty big gigs around the city. Matt Johnson, WPLW: I’m excellent in the kitchen, both cooking and eating. If someone else is cooking, eating is my favorite, but if I’m preparing the meal, I really enjoy the cooking. Buster Satterfield, WIOQ: I’m pretty good at doing impressions.
Fish, WKRZ: I’m a helluva pool player. I paid for college with my game. Lee Abrams mediavisions: Flying, songwriting and remembering dreams. Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: I think most people know that I’m a closet Brady Bunch trivia fan, and I have this ability to know everything about dates, facts and figures of #1 songs, music, TV, movies and important events in history. The novelty for others definitely wears off after a few minutes. Mike McVay, McVay Media: I’m really good at roller skating. Skated with my daughters when they were small. Heather Deluca, WSJO: Folding a fitted bed sheet is my superpower. And, I’m an excellent cornhole player. Mikey V, Kiss 108: Growing up I was pretty good at magic tricks! I could still make you scatch your head with a deck of cards. Rod Phillips, iHeartMedia: I have yet to discover any hidden talents…maybe they are still hidden? Hope so! Kobe, WZNE: I also am a club and event DJ, and have opened up for Flo Rida, B.O.B., Mac Miller, Big Sean and more! |
R Dub! Z90/Magic 92.5: Travel planning, but that secret’s out. I can still recite the entire McDonald’s “Menu Song” from 1989. Mark Adams, KYLD & KIOI: I play classical violin.
Bartel, WKTU: I’m a pretty good tailgate planner! #BarTailgate Jammer, WEZB: I can run really fast if I see a rat! Justin Chase, Beasley Media Group: I wouldn’t say it’s a talent anymore, but I was a music band geek throughout high school. I was also in every choir. I played the viola; I even played the handbells. I played percussion in a band. People are surprised when they hear about that, but not anymore. So, I got into radio because I love music. Valentine, WBHT: I’m a handy man and actually know how to do a lot of DIY projects. Erik Bradley, B96: I was a swimmer for 7 season and almost made the Jr. Olympics. I also make a mean Keto Chocolate Chip cookie. Max Volume, KOZZ: They call us “polymaths” i.e. being successful in many fields. I was a pro snowboarder for many years. I helped Glen Plake and Shaun Palmer launch the X Games. I’ve done modeling for various agencies (in my 20’s). I’ve played in many high-profile bands and done studio work for national acts. I also drove for Coca-Cola and have a Class 1 License. |
Guy Zapoleon, Zapoleon Consulting: I’m real history buff. When I was little, I read books on ancient history as well as Greek Russian Persian and Chinese Eastern, Norse, Celtic and European mythology. Still reading and learning. If you don’t know where you’ve been you don’t know where you’re going. Jana Sutter, WXXL: Fun party trick, I can blow fire. Java Joel, Javajoelmurphy@gmail.com: I’m really good at drinking beer and not exercising. Especially since this whole “COVID/not having a job” thing! Jeff Hurley, iHeartMedia: Every year at Christmas I become a candy-maker and create batches of fudge for my family and friends. Jagger, KCHZ: I know a little bit of magic. I can do a few tricks here and there. Favorite one is the cups and ball where you make the sponge ball appear out of nowhere. But I’m certainly not ready for The Magic Castle yet. Bob Patrick, WXLK: I’ve never lost a game of Scattergories. I’m also the reigning, defending and undisputed champion in the world of Clue. Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: I’m a classically trained pianist and an operatic vocalist. I’ve been playing the piano since I was 6-years-old. Dom Theodore, Radio Animal Media Strategies: I’m a pretty decent stock picker. Rick Vaughn, KENZ: I can bark like a dog, to the extent that when I muffle it people start looking around their house for a dog. |
