During the pandemic, radio personality Bob Stei took advantage of being out of a radio gig and started planning the show he always wanted to host. Since last year, the weekly 1990’s “Modern Rock” and “Britpop” show,  Grunge Garage has gained steam, picking up radio stations and web affiliates globally. The show now airs all over the world on over 30 affiliates in over eight countries. Recently, the show was picked up for Saturday nights on WHYP/Corry, PA “Channel 98.9” and soon will have a weekend home in San Luis Obispo, CA on KYNS “Alt 100.9.” The show will start broadcasting on Saturday evenings starting in August.

“I remember being in college radio back in 1991, and hearing groups like Nirvana and Pearl Jam and thinking, ‘Cool, it’s ok to listen to new music again!’” says Stei.

The show features artists of the 1990s like Blur, Oasis, Offspring, Garbage, Live, R.E.M., Garbage, Alanis Morrissette, Nirvana and Bush, just to name a few. A Morrissey song will be played once an hour during Stei’s “Mandatory Morrissey” segment.

“We’re super stoked to have Bob Stei’s Grunge Garage on ALT 100.9,” comments PD Ricardo Cano. “It will be a great show for those who remember growing up with their favorite bands from the 90s and Bob does a terrific job in building a very unique and catchy four hour show every week.”

Grunge Garage is syndicated and produced by Rhett Butler who also hosts the syndicated Retro Rock Internet Radio program on many of the same affiliates. The show is available for free to stations contact HERE for more information.
