John Mayer
John Mayer will release his eight full-length album, Sob Rock, on July 16. Produced by Mayer and Don Was, it is his first solo record since 2017’s The Search for Everything. The new album had been teased recently with mysterious “sob rock” billboards and ads in New York and Los Angeles.
Lead single “Last Train Home” was released today and Mayer will play it this coming Monday, June 7 on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Mayer will also spend part of his summer and fall touring as a member of the Dead & Company, the group featuring members of the Grateful Dead along with other musicians performing the music of the Dead. The band kicks off their 2021 tour on August 16 in Raleigh, NC and wind up with a three-night stand at L.A.’s Hollywood Bowl at the end of October.
