Logic earns his second #1 record on the Billboard 200 in under a year with the mixtape Bobby Tarantino II. It earned 119,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music, 32,000 were in traditional album sales. His last release, Everybody, debuted atop the Billboard chart in May of last year. The first Bobby Tarantino mixtape peaked at #12 on the album chart in 2016. Logic just announced a headlining tour last week, which begins in Boston on June 8 and runs up to August 3 in St. Louis.
Rapper Lil Yachty lands the highest chart position of his career with Lil Boat 2 debuting at #2 with 64,000 units, of which 7,000 were in traditional album sales. David Byrne also has his highest-ever charting position of his career, either solo or with Talking Heads, as his newest album American Utopia comes in at #3. Almost all of his 63,000 units were from sales, not streaming, and boosted by a ticket bundling promotion on his upcoming tour.
The fourth debut in the top ten this week comes from Metal legends Judas Priest, who also landed the highest-charting album of their 40-year career with Firepower. It was also bundled with tickets for their 2018 tour. And the other top ten debut this week is a new posthumous collection of tracks from Jimi Hendrix. Both Sides of the Sky debuts at #8 and includes ten previously-unreleased recordings from 1968-1970.
Black Panther: The Album moves down to #4 with The Greatest Showman soundtrack at #6. Culture II from Migos is at #7. The top ten is filled out by Ed Sheeran (#9) and Post Malone (#10).
