Metallica
Metallica has announced a new North American leg of their WorldWired Tour in support of their last album Hardwired… to Self-Destruct. The 34-date tour includes some cities the rockers haven’t visited in decades, such as Grand Forks, ND, which will have its first Metallica concert in 30 years. The first half of the dates run from September 2 in Madison, WI to December 9 in Fresno. The band takes a break for the holidays then returns to the road in Tulsa on January 19, 2019 with shows up to March 13 in Grand Rapids, MI.
Black Panther: The Album is #1 on the Billboard 200 chart for the second week in a row, with 131,000 equivalent album units in the week. The Kendrick Lamar-led collection is the soundtrack to the smash hit film, which has dominated the box office over the past two weeks. Culture II from Migos lands at #2 followed by the soundtrack to The Greatest Showman at #3. Rapper Nipsey Hussle has the largest debut of the week with Victory Lap arriving at #4. It is his first full studio album after having released a number of singles and mix tapes over the years. Singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile earns the highest chart debut of her career with By the Way, I Forgive You at #5. The Billboard 200’s top ten is filled out by Justin Timberlake (#6), Ed Sheeran (#7), Kendrick Lamar (#8), Post Malone (#9) and the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack (#10).
The Rolling Stones will tour the UK and Europe this spring and summer with an 11-date trek as part of their “No Filter” tour that played stadiums in 2017. The trek begins in Dublin on May 17 and winds up on July 8 in Warsaw.
