With the Grammy’s celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, what have been your most favorite Grammy performances of all-time from any era?

Brian Mack, WXXL: Sir Paul playing the “The End/Golden Slumbers” a few years ago.

 

Kobe, WWHT: Justin Timberlake and Al Green, Daft Punk with Pharrell and Nile Rodgers.

Rick Vaughn, Power 94.9: Elton John and Eminem.

Fish Boy, WKRZ: Logic’s performance last year was amazing, very emotional and highly memorable.

 

Paul “Cubby” Bryant, WKTU: In 2001 when Eminem was on fire, I’ll never forget the performance of the song “Stan” with Elton John. So very cool.

Jammer, WEZB: Adele.

Kobi, WNRW/WLGX: Adele, Whitney Houston, Prince, Michael Jackson, and Elton John.

 

Bartel, WKTU: Madonna from back in the day when I was just a kid watching the Grammys on TV,  and more recently Adele.

Mase, WWCD: Well of course it was PRINCE.

Max Volume, KOZZ: When Jethro Tull got a Grammy for best “Metal” album!

 

Kevin Kash, WWEG: Any time a  rock act performs at the Grammys it’s memorable because it doesn’t happen that often. Glad Metallica has had the honors.

 Chris K, 106.5 The End: The Mumford & Sons performance of a few years ago was pretty cool and it’s when they woke many of the Pop radio world up to how good they actually are. Another stand-out for me was Bruno Mars’ tribute to Prince. That was pretty awesome. Plus, any other Bruno performance works for me as well!

Mike Miller, WZFT: Bruno Mars and the tribute to Whitney Houston when Jennifer Hudson killed it.

 

Gina Gray, WERO: Ed Sheeran, “Shape Of You,” Portugal, The Man.

Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: Elton John & Eminem in…I think it was 2001? Amy Winehouse in ’08, Pink the first time she did all the acrobatic stuff.

Heather Deluca, WSJO: Well, EVERY single Michael Jackson appearance. But also there are 3 or 4 that stick out for me from the 2002 ceremony which I was lucky enough to attend, like *NSYNC and Nelly doing ‘Girlfriend’ while dancing on top of classic muscle cars, Outkast’s performance of ‘Miss Jackson’ with a full set of monkey bars on stage, Train doing ‘Drops of Jupiter’ backed by a 50 piece orchestra, and Alicia Keys singing ‘Fallin’ accompanied by a man playing a Spanish guitar. Also, last year’s Beyonce performance was completely ethereal.

Java Joel, WAKS: My favorite Grammy performances of all-time are the ones that don’t include preachy, heavy-handled, socially-conscious political ramblings, scoldings and/or reprimands. Have a feeling this year’s telecast will be especially annoying. Yay, Grammys!

 Rich Davis, KDWB: Adele, “Rolling in the Deep” 2012.

 

Mike “OD” O’Donnell, WKRZ: MJ performance with the Moonwalk into “Man in the Mirror.” Christina Aguilera, Lil Kim, Mya, Pink performance of “Lady Marmalade.” The Adele praising Beyonce moment when Adele swept the big categories.

Jeff Hurley, WHKF/WLAN: Bob Dylan’s “Soybomb” performance back in the mid-90’s when one of back dancers came to the forefront and he had “Soybomb” written on his chest as some kind of anarchist protest.  What made it so memorable is that I watched it happen live, I was working the show, above the stage.

Joey Brooks, WHYI/WMIA: Jennifer Hudson’s performance of “I Will Always Love You” after Whitney’s death was incredibly powerful.

Jon Zellner. iHeartMedia: Elton John and Eminem, Prince and Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson’s tribute to Whitney Houston, Lady Gaga’s tribute to David Bowie and Michael Jackson’s comeback appearance in 1988.

Jonathan Reed, WNOK: The “In Memoriam” segment always sticks out for me. It’s good to look back at some of the greats we lost and there has been some great musical tributes.
