The 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class has been announced, with Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, The Moody Blues, The Cars and Nina Simone all being inducted next April. Sister Rosetta Tharpe will be given an Early Influence award as well.

Radiohead was the only act on this year’s ballot that was in their first year of eligibility but didn’t make the 2018 class.

Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres and keyboardist David Bryan spoke to Rolling Stone about their induction, with Torres saying, “It’s something that’s iconic in a sense. A lot of my friends are in it. It’s pretty prestigious. The fact that it covers all types of music is a beautiful thing.” Bryan added, “It’s a nice recognition of 25 years after 1984, which is when our first record came out.”

Moody Blues singer Justin Hayward told Rolling Stone, “I’m extremely grateful to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for two things: For creating the supreme temple to something that has brought me endless joy since I was a little boy. The second thing is for, after all these years, including us.”

The Rock Hall induction ceremony will take place in Cleveland on April 14, with an edited broadcast of the event airing on HBO and SiriusXM later that spring.
