Weezer and Pixies have announced an extensive North American tour for the summer of 2018. The co-headlining tour of veteran alt-rockers begins in Tampa on June 23 and wraps up on August 12 in Phoenix. Weezer just released their 11th studio album Pacific Daydream last week. “We’re all big Weezer fans,” said Pixies’ Black Francis, “so we’re really looking forward to this summer. We have a lot of respect for Weezer, they’re not afraid to take risks with their music.”

Disney confirmed the rumors on Wednesday that Beyoncé will portray the voice of Nala in the upcoming remake of The Lion King. Fellow musician/actor Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) had already been cast as Simba. The film is due out in the summer of 2019 and will be directed by Jon Favreau, using the same live action/CGI technique as his version of The Jungle Book. The cast also includes a returning James Earl Jones to his iconic role as Mufasa and Chiwetel Ejiofor as the villain Scar, along with Alfre Woodard, John Oliver, Seth Rogan, Billy Eichner, Kohn Kani and more.

Vance Joy will release his sophomore album Nation of Two in February of 2018. The Australian singer-songwriter released a new single today, titled “Like Gold.” Joy says, “Nation Of Two describes a perfectly self-contained couple; their world beginning and ending at the bed they share, the car they ride in, or any other place where they’re together…the idea that their love for each other gives them their bearings; a point of reference that makes sense of life.”
