A tenure with Clear Channel that stretches back to the Jacor days of the company and started as a personality at the legendary WFLZ (The Power Pig), Tampa comes to a close at year’s end when CC’s Atlanta RVP Tim Dukes exits the company.
Dukes, who started his ascent in the Atlanta cluster as PD at Heritage Rocker WKLS in August 1999, was subsequently promoted to Operations Manager of `KLS, WMXV (Classic Hits) and WLDA (CHR/Rhythmic). In February `02, he took on Director of Programming/Atlanta chores, then overseeing ‘KLS, WGST (News/Talk), WLTM (Soft AC), WLCL (Oldies), WBZY (Alternative) and WWVA (Spanish Contemporary). Dukes rose to his current position in November `02 when he took on oversight of 24 CC stations in Atlanta, Columbus, Macon, Newnan and Lagrange, GA, plus the Atlanta Braves Radio Network, which is set to debut in Spring 2005.
Prior to his Atlanta stint, Dukes programmed numerous CC stations in San Diego and in Cincinnati at legendary Rocker, WEBN.
Reach Dukes at CC until December 30 at 404-325-0960. You can also send him a note at getdukes@aol.com.
