WKQX – Chicago
ALT AZ – Phoenix
Jason DeVore wrote a song for the Arizona Cardinals whilst (yep, I’m bringing it back) the team was in the midst of a playoff run. Christy Taylor at ALT AZ capitalized on the popularity of football (who knew?) by shooting a video with Jason, and getting the origin story of the song. Strong move to find an ALT AZ niche that can lure in Cardinals fans. Check those share numbers. You know in England they call soccer football, and they call football American football. Sometimes I say facts like that in my apartment because the echo from my voice sounds like friends.
KFM–BFM – San Diego
If Garett Michaels ever decided to become a super villain, he’d find much success. One of the best program directors in the game always seems to find a way to mix up some magical chaos. His rebrand of KFM-BFM sounds like when ice cream is the perfect kind of melty. It goes deep, it goes odd, it goes now. Garett’s vision is worth checking out. I think of Garett as a friend, but his attorney insists we’re not.
WKQX – Chicago
The Sox or The Cubs. A choice all Chicago-ers (that’s probably not right) have to make. WKQX has a neat little series where two Sox fans talk Cubs. Decent prod value, and some tongue-in-cheek material makes the piece work. I think more on air personalities should step in front of the camera. That said, it does add ten pounds, so your ego will look massive.
